Yeah. I guess I got only 95% for Christian anarchist because I didn't COMPLETELY agree with the question on non-violence. I believe that there are for sure times when violence is justified and necessary to prevent greater evils. There are some rapists I have known that I would have no problem castrating ^_~ And sometimes war is about the only way to deal with some wrongs. But only in extreme circumstances, as an absolute last resort.
| You scored as Christian Anarchist. Christian anarchism is one of the oldest anarchist philosophies, arguably dating back to the early Christian church. Christian anarchists emphasise non-violence and oppose the state as God is the only legitimate source of authority. Key thinkers include the Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy. i am thinking of you. all of you.
know that you are in our thoughts and if you want to email us, go to xanga and email that way if you can. take care and know that you are in our thoughts ...
I think if we Christians were really serious we'd all be anarchists. (I have skimmed that site over ... has some good arguments ... don't know if I agree completely, don't know if subcategories such as "anarcho-capitalist" really matter.)
Cool quiz. Thanks for posting it.
heh, i was mostly the same ranked as you, but different percentages. Christian highest, then feminist, then syndicalist though, then commie, then primitivist, then capitalist. I bet Jax would score higher than all of us as a primitivist ;)
The "Jesus is an anarcho-capitalist" article was amusing... some very serious selective reading and creative interpretation going on there!
Of course, I partially agree. It's obvious to me that Jesus is a pacifist (not resisting evil is pretty much the definition of pacifist), and it's obvious that any pacifist must be an anarcho-pacifist, since government is based on violent force...
The types of anarchism shown in the poll don't seem like they have very much in common. So I'd say that subcategories matter. Anyone who throws bombs at people is no friend of mine.
I'm an anarcha feminist, and I'm male. Then again though, it's the closest as i believe in equality and that I'm an atheist but live by some of the values.
I'm a nihilist myself though, or a socialist
I'm a Anarcho Syndicalist which makes perfect sense to me. Not into christianity so no suprise there that that one came up 0%. Suprised I wasn't more of a Anarcho-Feminist. Thanks for posting the quiz.
Looks like I came up with Christian Anarchist... with anarcho communist running close second. I was pretty incredulous about this fellow's suggestion that Jesus was a libertarian... he makes the very same mistakes as John Locke: 1. Assuming the primacy of the individual (an anthropological falacy) and 2. Assuming that all capitalist trade is based in consent (ignoring the existence of duress on the part of marginalized peoples)
Christ's teachings were clearly community centered, and placed moral obligations on individuals to serve the common good. Hence pacifism even at a personal sacrifice.
I think the whole concept of Christian anarchism is fascinating. And I'm a multiethnic black woman coming from a Jewish background. I guess that I would consider myself a Christian mystic; having gone to Catholic schools, I feel most connected to Christianity as an individual. However, I'm much more fascinated and affected by the life and words of Christ than I am by more secular Christian concepts and laws. It's rather apparent to me that there is much 'politicism' and a 'business' atmosphere surrounding organized (Christian)religion which may or may not have anything to do with the words or will of Jesus Christ either as a man or as a Diety. Stumbled upon this blog surfing the net at work, and I think it's great.
